Tomten’s Forest Friends by Eva Melhuish for Lewis and Irene is the fourth collection of these beautifully illustrated Tomten Christmas fabrics. Tomten is a Swedish mythological creature with a beard and a red cap, similar in appearance to a Christmas elf or Santa Claus.
The Tomten’s Forest Friends collection has several panels and allover fabrics featuring Eva’s beautiful wintry illustrations. There’s a lovely box panel with 21 individual 5 inch blocks featuring Tomten and his forest friends. The placemat panel has 6 individual placemat designs and there’s a gorgeous bunting panel with 16 pennants. The small stocking panel includes 4 stocking prints to make 2 small stockings. There’s also a pretty table runner panel which could also be used as a stripe co-ordinate.
The allover co-ordinate prints available from this collection include beautiful Tomten and Foxes prints on dark blue, light blue and white as well as this hares fabric on dark navy and a squirrel print on dark navy. Other co-ordinates from the Keep Believing, Tomten’s Village and Tomten’s Folklore Christmas collections also work well with the panels in the Tomten’s Forest Friends collection.
